JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Eagle head coach Ken Sparks and the Carson-Newman football coaching staff will hold their 20th Annual Championship Coaching Clinic beginning on Friday at the Music Road Hotel and Inn in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

Ohio State coach Jim Tressel and former University of Tennessee head coach Phillip Fulmer will headline the event.

"We're excited about our 20th clinic," said Sparks, who begins his 30th season at Carson-Newman this fall. "Coach Tressel and coach Fulmer have both reached the top of this profession in terms of winning a national championship, and we're thrilled to have them come be a part of our clinic."

Both Sparks and Fulmer are past presidents of the American Football Coaches Association.

The Carson-Newman coaching staff will also speak throughout the weekend, including offensive coordinator Mike Turner and defensive coordinator Jim Deaton, who took over the position for a third time in January.

Maryville High School coach George Quarles and Naples (Fla.) High School coach Bill Kramer will also be a part of the weekend festivities.

Steve and Arlene Debardelaben will conduct the weekend's session for coaches' wives.
