Eagles Ranked Eighth in The Sporting News Preseason Top 25
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. -- The Carson-Newman football team is ranked eighth in the nation according to The Sporting News Division II Preseason Top 25 Poll.
Grand Valley State is No. 1, followed by Northwest Missouri State, defending national champion Minnesota-Duluth, Delta State and Edinboro.

Carson-Newman Releases 2009 Football Schedule
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - A trip to Florence, Ala. to face three-time national champion North Alabama and a trip to Minnesota highlight Carson-Newman's 2009 football schedule released on Monday.
The Eagles open their season at Winona State University in Winona, Minn. on Thursday night August 27. The Warriors were 6-5 in 2008 and play in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, which is also home to defending D-II national champion, Minnesota-Duluth . The game will mark the first time Carson-Newman has played a game in Minnesota.

Tressel Highlights Carson-Newman Football Coaches Clinic
PIGEON FORGE - Carson-Newman held its 20th annual Championship Coaches Football Clinic over the weekend at the at the Music Road Hotel and Inn.
Ohio State coach Jim Tressel and former University of Tennessee head coach Phillip Fulmer highlighted the event, with such other speakers as renowed motivational speaker Farris Jordan and Maryville High School head football coach George Quarels.
